Brixton welcomed Ed Miliband, the Labour Leader, who spoke to locals during his visit while conducting his own public inquiry into the causes of the riots.

The Labour leader acknowledged that his party must accept some responsibility for the environment in which the rioters were raised, admitting that the party had failed to sufficiently address inequality during its time in power.
